Home / Frame Extract

Video frame extract

Capture single frames from any browser-playable video. Seek with the controls, click capture, get a JPEG or PNG download. Nothing uploaded.

VIDEO

How it works

Loads the video as a local Blob URL into a HTML5 video element. When you click Capture, a canvas is drawn from the current video frame and downloaded. Zero network involvement after page load.

FAQ

What video formats are supported?
Any format your browser plays natively: MP4, WebM, OGG. MKV depends on browser. For MOV, AVI, FLV use a desktop tool like ffmpeg.
How precise is the seek?
Frame-accurate on most modern browsers (Chrome 100+, Safari 15+, Firefox 100+). Older browsers may snap to the nearest keyframe.
Can I extract every frame?
Yes. The Capture all frames option iterates through the video at the source frame rate. For long videos this can produce thousands of files; consider a sampling interval.
Is the video uploaded?
No. The browser plays the video locally and reads pixels from a canvas. Zero upload.
What output format?
JPEG at quality 92, or PNG (lossless). Choose PNG for further editing or computer-vision use cases.
